I am a California native whose work is deeply shaped by the rhythm of the coast and a lifelong pull toward creativity. I was born in San Jose and have been fortunate to live in Aptos, a small beach town in Santa Cruz County, for more than 25 years. Living near the ocean influences how I see movement, light, and time, and those elements show up naturally in my work.
My artistic practice centers on original acrylic pour paintings created on wood, canvas, functional surfaces, and sculptural forms. I am drawn to the way paint moves under gravity, echoing tide pools, kelp beds, fog, and the shifting light along the California coast. Each piece is guided by intuition and process, allowing the materials to shape the final result. No two works are ever the same.
In addition to fine and functional art, I am also a children’s book author and illustrator. Storytelling plays an important role in my creative life and influences how I approach color, movement, and emotion in my visual work. Whether I am creating paintings or children’s stories, I am drawn to themes of curiosity, imagination, connection, and the quiet magic found in everyday moments.
I believe art should be lived with, not just observed. My work is designed to exist comfortably in real spaces, inviting touch, use, and interaction while remaining truly one of a kind. Each piece carries a sense of place shaped by years of living close to the ocean and paying attention to its steady, grounding presence.
